New operations director at Thomson

| Thomson Cruises has announced it has recruited a new operations director. Adrian Hibbert has had a number of travel jobs and will join Thomson from the Marine Accident and Investigation Branch, where he was part of a team that reviewed all incidents and accidents associated with UK shipping. He previously worked at Thomson Cruises' sister company Island Cruises on its senior management team. Hibbert, who will join take up his new role on September 3, replaces Maurice Kennedy who will stand down after more than a decade as general manager of operations. Thomson and Island Cruises managing director Fraser Ellacott said: "I am delighted to welcome Adrian to the team, where his wealth of experience will no doubt add value to our management team here at Thomson Cruises. "Adrian is a qualified Master and has worked across a number of businesses in the shipping sector so I am confident that he'll bring a fresh and modern focus to our business."
