Expedia's corporate travel arm has launched a new centralised booking platform that gives clients access to almost 200,000 hotels around the world.
Travel industry expert Egencia, which manages business travel for companies, said the new Egencia Hotel booking tool makes the booking process "easier and faster" and also features more information on properties such as reviews and photos.
Travel managers can customise the hotel platform so that it fits in with their programmes, and it also allows them to locate their travellers through the Egencia Traveller Tracking system.
Christophe Peymirat, Egencia's senior vice president, said: "For a business trip to be successful, it requires preparation and finding the right mix of hotels, flights and other transport products. Egencia makes it easy for the (self) booker to search the right hotel faster and more intuitively.
"With a revamped search and online booking experience, Egencia allows the traveller to know and pick better where they go, thus removing any potential tension on their travels, so that they can focus on business."
